These traditional systems do not directly correspond to biomedical organs.

Care aims to support overall health and well-being through appropriate TCM assessment and treatment. This approach is distinct from psychotherapy or psychiatric treatment and does not replace those services when needed. Learn more →

How We Treat

All clinical services at Adaptive Healing are provided under my professional registrations as a Registered Acupuncturist (R.Ac.) and Traditional Chinese Medicine Practitioner (TCMP).

Assessment, differential diagnosis, and treatment planning are grounded in Traditional Chinese Medicine principles. This approach considers patterns of function within the body, relationships between its systems, and the influence of lifestyle, environment, and individual circumstances.

My ongoing studies in osteopathy deepen my understanding of anatomical relationships, movement patterns, and the body's interconnected systems. This complementary perspective enriches my assessment and interpretation of TCM diagnoses, while informing the selection of appropriate manual treatment techniques within my current professional scope.

Billing & Insurance

Receipts identify the professional services actually provided under my R.Ac. or TCMP registration, as applicable. Insurance reimbursement depends on the services covered by your individual benefits plan.

Treatment Options

Treatment begins with an assessment and an individualized plan. Therapeutic methods are recommended according to their suitability and anticipated benefit for each patient's condition.

Treatment decisions are made collaboratively, with informed consent. You are encouraged to express your preferences, ask questions, and discuss any treatments you would prefer to receive or avoid, including acupuncture and manual therapy. You may decline or withdraw consent at any time.

You do not need to choose a treatment method before booking. With the exception of herbal prescriptions, treatment methods may be incorporated into a session as appropriate to your assessment and treatment plan. Chinese herbal medicine may be prescribed following an appointment or as part of ongoing care. If you have questions about treatment options or booking, you are welcome to get in touch beforehand.

Chinese Herbal Medicine

Chinese herbal medicine uses carefully selected combinations of herbs to address patterns identified through Traditional Chinese Medicine diagnosis.

Rather than prescribing individual herbs for isolated symptoms, formulas are developed according to the patient’s overall presentation. Two people experiencing similar symptoms may therefore receive different prescriptions.

Herbal formulas may be adjusted as treatment progresses. Medical history, current medications, potential interactions, and individual circumstances are considered when prescribing.

Herbal medicine may complement other treatments or be provided through a separate herbal consultation.
